RipCore Connection Problem

Mostly with Windows users, but sometimes with Mac as well a user will receive a message saying "AccuRIP can not connect to RipCore". RipCore is a printing service used by AccuRIP to loads upon start of the computer operating system.

The connection issue can be from a "firewall" software that is "blocking" the RipCore service and or "AccuRIP" itself. Open your firewall software and "Allow" full access or privileges to both services. There are Flash videos to help users located on this website.

Windows users, restarting the computer should turn on the RipCore service, in a event that the RipCore remains off users can start it manually. Using the system feature "RUN" (located in the Windows Accessory folder for Vista and Windows 7, located in the Start menu for XP) type in "services.msc", in the "local services" window find RipCore and "Start" the service by clicking on the word "Start". Now launch AccuRIP. It may be necessary to restart the computer, but not always.

Finally, after the RipCore has been turned on it may be necessary to get AccuRIP out of the "Paused" mode. Open AccuRIP and look in the lower left corner of the main window and if it shows "RipCore Paused" then click on the Green Play button to get the RIP back to the "Ready Mode". You can also accomplish this using options under the "jobs Menu".

Mac users, this is a very rare issue, usually due to user login permission damage. Mac users can either reinstall AccuRIP and restart or login under a different "User Account Space" (one that has administrative privileges" and install the app. If trouble continues see the video "AccuRIP menu doesn't appear" located on this website.
